Hamburg armed attack kills two Turkish citizens

Two Turkish citizens were killed and one was injured during an armed attack at a business complex in the St. Pauli district of Hamburg, Germany. The incident occurred on Lagerstrasse, near the Hamburg International Exhibition Center.

According to reports, a partially masked group of approximately 8 to 10 individuals entered the premises before gunfire was heard. Authorities discovered a 47-year-old male who died from his injuries and a 33-year-old male found with a gunshot wound to the head. A 48-year-old Turkish national also sustained a non-life-threatening head injury and was treated at Hamburg University Hospital.

The Hamburg Prosecution Office is investigating the possibility of a connection to organized crime, though they have not officially confirmed if the incident was a “mafia settlement.” The Hamburg Homicide Squad (LKA 41) and the Organized Crime Unit are leading the investigation.

Former professional boxer Ismail Özen, whose boxing club is located within the same business complex, issued a statement through his lawyer clarifying that the attack was not connected to him and that he did not know the deceased individuals.
