Hamburg Business Regatta faces thunderstorms on the Alster

The Hamburg Business Regatta on the Alster faced significant weather disruptions due to a sudden thunderstorm. The storm brought heavy rain, hail, and strong gusts, forcing organizers to cancel two of the three planned races.

Despite the conditions, the single completed race determined the winner of the ‘Schüssel der Hamburger Wirtschaft’. Dieter Gast, alongside Andreas Hengstmann and Martin Borkmann, successfully defended his title from the previous year. Second place went to Carsten Kemmling, Dirk Borgwardt, and Kai Möhrle, while Hannes Hollaender, Louis Enking, and Henning Riecken finished third.

Participants included various prominent figures, such as Hamburg HSV legend Felix Magath, Chamber of Commerce President Hjalmar Stemmann, and entrepreneur Wiebke Köhler.
