Hamburg expands alcohol ban zone in St. Georg and honors theater director Corny Littmann

Hamburg has widened its alcohol‑consumption prohibition area in the St. Georg district, extending the ban from the main station to surrounding streets such as Hansaplatz, the upper Steindamm and the ZOB. The measure aims to curb alcohol‑related crime, violence and drug problems as part of a tightened security strategy around the central railway hub.

In a separate cultural event, theater manager Cornelius “Corny” Littmann received a star on the Reeperbahn, becoming the second person after Udo Lindenberg to be honored in this way for his contributions to Hamburg’s cultural life.
