Hamburg Ladies Open: Ukrainian star Oliynykova advances, German Korpatsch reaches quarterfinal

Ukrainian tennis player Oleksandra Oliynykova, 25, progressed to the quarter‑final of the MSC Hamburg Ladies Open at the Rothenbaum. She has repeatedly criticised Russian and Belarusian athletes for supporting their regimes and promotes the "Drones4UA" initiative to aid Ukraine’s defence against Russia’s invasion.

German No. 1 Tamara Korpatsch also advanced to the quarter‑final after defeating wildcard entrant Julia Stusek 6‑0, 3‑6, 6‑3. Korpatsch highlighted the challenging indoor‑court conditions and the presence of her pet Maltipoo, Stella, who accompanied her on the bench during the match.
