Hamburg police investigate shootings at bank and local businesses
Police in Hamburg are investigating a series of shootings targeting various businesses in the city. The most recent incident occurred at the Saderat Bank Iran on Deichstraße, where unknown perpetrators fired four shots into the entrance door and spray-painted the words ‘ASAD’ or ‘AISAN’ on the facade.
Investigators from the Staatsschutz (State Security) have taken over the case. The graffiti may hold symbolic meaning, potentially referring to the historical Persian lion symbol or an Iranian social media influencer. Authorities are currently evaluating surveillance footage from the nearby Landeszentralbank.
This incident follows two other recent shootings in the city: one targeting a vegan kebab wholesaler in Barmbek-Nord and another at a shisha bar in Rotherbaum. While police are examining potential links between these attacks, no connection has been officially confirmed. No injuries were reported in the recent incidents.
