Hamburger SV pursues permanent transfer of Arsenal's Fabio Vieira

Hamburger SV is intensifying its pursuit of Arsenal midfielder Fabio Vieira as the summer transfer window approaches its close. HSV sporting director Claus Costa traveled to London to meet with the Portuguese player and Arsenal sporting director Andrea Berta to reiterate the club's interest.

While the meeting between the sporting directors was not a formal negotiation, a valuation gap remains between the two clubs. Hamburg has reportedly tabled an offer of approximately €13 million, while Arsenal is seeking a fee closer to €17 million. Both sides are believed to be working toward a compromise to finalize a permanent transfer.

Vieira, 26, spent last season on loan at Hamburg, where he recorded seven goals and six assists in 31 appearances, helping the club maintain its Bundesliga status. Although he joined Arsenal from Porto in 2022 for a fee of up to €40 million, he struggled to secure a consistent starting role under manager Mikel Arteta.
