Hamdi Ulukaya bids $30 million for historic Istanbul Bosphorus mansion

Hamdi Ulukaya, the founder of Chobani, has reportedly made a bid for the historic Yağcı Hacı Şefik Bey Mansion located in Kanlıca on the Istanbul Bosphorus. Ulukaya, seeking a residence to spend more time in Istanbul, has submitted an offer of $30 million for the property.

The mansion, also known as the Faruk Yalçın Mansion, is being sold by the heirs of Faruk Yalçın, who passed away in 2008. The heirs—Osman, Hatice, Ayşe, İsmail, and Süreyya Yalçın—initially sought $70 million for the estate. After failing to find a buyer at that price, the asking price was reduced to $55 million.

There remains a $25 million gap between the heirs' current asking price and Ulukaya's offer. It is currently unclear if the Yalçın family will accept the proposal.
