Hamid Derakhshan warns of regression in Iranian football
Football expert Hamid Derakhshan has expressed concerns regarding the state of Iranian football infrastructure ahead of the 26th season of the Iranian Premier League. He noted that instead of progress, the sector is experiencing a regression.
Discussing team readiness, Derakhshan stated that no team is currently fully prepared due to a limited preparation window. He highlighted Persepolis as the only club that has managed to separate itself slightly from the pack through an effective training camp. While Esteghlal and other teams conducted domestic camps, Derakhshan emphasized that the lack of time prevents players from reaching ideal physiological conditions.
Regarding player transfers, he observed that there has been little significant movement of high-quality talent. Instead, much of the activity has involved players moving between domestic clubs, and the recruitment of foreign players has been limited.
