Hamidin Mohd Amin withdraws from FAM presidential race

Tan Sri Hamidin Mohd Amin has announced his decision not to contest for the presidency of the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM). Despite reports that he had received significant nominations and majority support from many FAM coalition members, Hamidin stated that the decision was made to prioritize the stability and future of Malaysian football.

In a statement, Hamidin expressed his sincere apologies to the FAM coalition members and football supporters for his decision. He emphasized that he wants to avoid the election process becoming a source of division within the organization or hindering the ongoing reform and development agendas of the national football body.

He believes that stepping aside will allow the FAM to enter a new era and ensure a smoother leadership transition, ultimately helping the organization regain the confidence of the Malaysian public.
