Hamilton on front row, Leclerc crashes in Barcelona qualifying

At the Spanish Grand Prix qualifying in Barcelona, Lewis Hamilton secured a front‑row start, posting a lap of 1:14.743 that placed him second on the grid, just 0.064 seconds off pole. Charles Leclerc crashed in the final sector of Q3, failing to set a time and relegating him to tenth place for the race.

Hamilton said he was “really happy” with the front‑row result after a tough weekend, while Leclerc admitted he felt “embarrassed” and blamed a driving error. Ferrari team principal Fred Vasseur praised the overall pace but lamented Leclerc’s mistake, noting the team will aim to recover positions during the race.
