Hamilton teen suspect wanted for double murder in Stoney Creek shooting

Police in Hamilton have obtained judicial authorization to publicly name 15‑year‑old Rahziel Martin as the primary suspect in a double‑murder shooting that occurred in the Stoney Creek area of east‑Hamilton. The incident took place around 2:30 a.m. on July 29, 2026 at 191 Candlewood Drive, where officers found two males with gunshot wounds – 18‑year‑old Abdulmalek Shibli and 16‑year‑old Afef Binafif – both of whom later died in hospital.

Investigators say at least six individuals were present and an exchange of gunfire occurred. Martin is wanted on two counts of second‑degree murder and four counts of attempted murder using a firearm. Police are urging him to turn himself in and warning that anyone who knowingly assists him could also face charges.
