Hamster Corporation announces ‘Bubble Bobble’ release for Switch 2 and PS5

Hamster Corporation has announced that the classic action game ‘Bubble Bobble’ will be released as part of the ‘Console Archives’ series on August 26, 2026. The title will be available for Nintendo Switch 2 and PlayStation 5 at a price of 800 yen.

Originally released by Taito in 1988 for 8-bit home consoles, the game follows characters Bubblun and Bobblun as they navigate 100 levels to rescue their girlfriends. To celebrate the release, a special ‘Console Archiver’ live stream will be broadcast on YouTube on the launch date at 19:00, featuring Taito representatives and developers to discuss the game.
