Hamur Women's Cooperative boosts local employment in Ağrı

The Hamur Women's Cooperative, established approximately six months ago in the Hamur district of Ağrı, is providing employment opportunities and supporting local family economies. Founded under the auspices of the Family Support Center with support from the District Governor's Office and as part of the Ağrı Governorate's efforts to increase regional employment, the cooperative currently employs seven women.

The cooperative specializes in producing various regional delicacies, including manti, kete, stuffed meatballs (icli köfte), tandoor bread, pickles, pastries, and various desserts. Due to rising demand, workers occasionally work beyond standard hours to fulfill orders, and plans are underway to expand the cooperative's production capacity.

District Governor Erkan Minuz stated that the primary goal is to create employment areas for local women by utilizing their existing skills in traditional food production. Beyond economic benefits, the cooperative serves as a social hub, allowing women to engage with the community and participate actively in production.
