Hamza Abdelkarim prepares for El Clásico with personalized footwear

Egyptian forward Hamza Abdelkarim is poised to potentially become the first Egyptian player to participate in an El Clásico match between FC Barcelona and Real Madrid. Ahead of the upcoming La Liga fixture, Barcelona announced that several players, sponsored by Nike, will wear customized boots featuring personal messages.

Abdelkarim has chosen the Arabic phrase ‘Here history begins’ (or ‘Here the story begins’) to be displayed on his Phantom model boots. This gesture reflects his ambitions as he seeks to establish himself within the first team under manager Hansi Flick.

Other Barcelona players have also selected personalized messages for the match: Gavi chose ‘100% is not enough’, Karim Adeyemi selected ‘This is why I came’, Xavi Espart used ‘The dream continues’ in Catalan, and goalkeeper Joan García wrote ‘Mission number 1: Win’.
