Hamza Akman on leaving Galatasaray and Eyüpspor’s season ambitions

Hamza Akman, a 21‑year‑old midfielder for TFF First League side Eyüpspor, discussed the club’s pre‑season camp, noting intensive double‑training sessions and the squad’s goal of finishing in the mid‑table of the league.

He explained his decision to depart Galatasaray after more than a decade in the club’s youth system, saying limited first‑team opportunities and strong competition made the move necessary. Akman said he chose a club where he can play regularly, hopes to become a regular starter for Eyüpspor, targets a call‑up to Turkey’s senior national team, and remains open to returning to Galatasaray if conditions allow. He also praised coach Özhan Pulat’s trust in him.
