Hamza Yacine wins third stage of Tour du Burkina Faso
Algerian sprinter Hamza Yacine won the third stage of the 37th Tour international du Burkina Faso in Boromo. Following his victory in Koudougou during the second stage, Yacine completed the 158.9 kilometer course in 3 hours, 27 minutes, and 47 seconds, maintaining an average speed of approximately 45.88 km/h.
Despite a tense race and multiple attacks from Paul Daumont, who finished second, Yacine secured the win in a mass sprint. Tom Wijfje of the Netherlands continues to hold the yellow jersey, despite being involved in a significant crash during the final kilometers of the stage.
The race has seen several withdrawals due to injuries sustained in a previous crash, including riders from Burkina Faso, Cameroon, and Niger. The competition features twelve international teams and covers a total distance of over 2,387 kilometers across ten stages.
