Han Dong-hoon signals potential cooperation with Oh Se-hoon

Independent lawmaker Han Dong-hoon has expressed support for Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon, describing him as a “very rational person” and stating that they must work together for the victory of the conservative camp. Han commented on Oh’s recent acquittal in an appeals court regarding allegations of violating the Political Funds Act, noting that the correction of the initial ruling was a relief.

Addressing criticisms from some conservative circles labeling him a “traitor” due to his actions during the martial law incident, Han asserted, “I have never betrayed the people,” and maintained that preventing martial law was his duty. He also dismissed recent allegations regarding his daughter’s credentials as “political retaliation” by the Democratic Party.

In a separate political development, Lee Jun-seok of the Reform Party has rejected the possibility of a coalition involving Han, criticizing Han’s political methods. Meanwhile, in the National Assembly, lawmakers from both major parties have called for perjury charges against Gyeonggi Governor Chu Mi-ae and Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon regarding their testimonies during recent audits.
