Han Yong-gil appointed as new TBS CEO

Han Yong-gil, the former president of CBS, has been appointed as the new CEO of TBS (Seoul Media Foundation). His three-year term begins on the 26th, with a primary focus on normalizing management through three core principles: restoring fairness and trust, strengthening media competitiveness, and transitioning to a digital-first media model.

Han faces significant challenges, including resolving unpaid wages and addressing existing debt. To achieve this, he plans to restore communication with the Seoul Metropolitan Government and the Seoul Metropolitan Council to develop concrete solutions.

To expand independent revenue streams, Han intends to establish a ‘Culture and Arts Business Division’ within TBS, leveraging his previous experience in managing large-scale cultural and performance projects. He aims to transform TBS into a sustainable media company that maintains political neutrality and provides reliable broadcasting for the citizens of Seoul.
