Hana Financial Group launches nationwide discounted egg initiative

Hana Financial Group has launched the ‘Good Egg Project’ (also referred to as the ‘Kind Egg’ project) to supply discounted eggs to supermarkets across South Korea. The initiative aims to alleviate food price pressures for consumers and support small retailers ahead of the Chuseok holiday.

In partnership with the Small Enterprise and Marketing Service (SEMAS) and the Korea Federation of Micro Enterprise (KFME), the group will work with 20 poultry farms to distribute approximately 120,000 trays of eggs to roughly 4,000 neighborhood supermarkets nationwide. To keep retail prices low, Hana Financial will cover costs related to washing, inspecting, sorting, and transportation.

Under this program, consumers can purchase 60 eggs (two trays) for 9,990 won (approximately $7). SEMAS will oversee the project and establish price labeling guidelines, while KFME will utilize its network to facilitate distribution through small supermarket chains.
