Hana Jušić’s film selected as Croatian candidate for Goya Awards
The Croatian Society of Film Workers has selected Hana Jušić’s film, ‘Bog neće pomoći’ (God Will Not Help), as the Croatian candidate for the 41st Goya Awards. The film is eligible for the Best European Film category, an award presented by the Spanish Academy of Cinematic Arts and Sciences to European productions made outside of Spain.
A historical drama set in an isolated pastoral community on the Dinara mountain at the beginning of the 20th century, the film follows Teresa, a Chilean woman who arrives claiming to be the widow of an elder’s brother. Her presence disrupts the community's strict social order while introducing themes of change and freedom.
Produced by Kinorama, the film is a co-production involving Italy, Romania, Greece, France, and Slovenia. It has received significant international recognition, including awards at the Locarno Film Festival and the Sarajevo Film Festival, as well as multiple Golden Arenas at the Pula Film Festival for cinematography and music.
