Hana Zagorová commemorated on 80th birthday

The Czech music community is commemorating the 80th birthday of legendary singer Hana Zagorová, who passed away on August 26, 2022. Fans gathered at her grave in Prague's Vyšehrad to pay tribute with flowers and candles.

To mark the milestone, the musical Biograf láska 2, based on her hits, held its premiere at the Kalich Theatre. Her husband, opera singer Štefan Margita, attended the event and shared memories of her life and legacy. Margita noted that Zagorová's estate and belongings will remain within the family, as she had not wished for a museum.

Zagorová's career was marked by immense success, including nine consecutive Zlatý slavík awards between 1977 and 1985. She was also recognized for her political courage in 1989 when she signed the petition ‘Několik vět’ during the communist era. Her legacy continues through new musical productions, a commemorative book, and a new album.
