Hanako Yamada wins consecutive Yoshimoto Shinkigeki popularity election

Hanako Yamada has achieved consecutive victories in the Yoshimoto Shinkigeki cast popularity election. During a monthly press conference held in Osaka, Yamada expressed her excitement regarding her second consecutive first-place finish, jokingly suggesting she might change her name to ‘Yamada Renpa’ (Yamada Consecutive Wins).

Yamada attributed part of her success to her active social media presence, noting that a video documenting the election process garnered 410,000 views on her YouTube channel. As part of her win, she also secured rights to produce a new product for the sponsor, Myojo Ippei-chan Yata no Yakisoba, proposing a luxury concept featuring foie gras meunière with caviar sauce.

Looking ahead to the ‘Yoshimoto Shinkigeki Matsuri 2026’ scheduled for October 30 at Namba Grand Kagetsu, Yamada revealed she plans to perform a role as a professional wrestler, drawing on her actual past experience in the sport. The event will feature the top 30 cast members and the troupe leader, Aki.
