Hanau City Run draws record 4,000 participants to combat violence against women

The 25th Hanau City Run (Stadtlauf Hanau) saw a record participation of 4,000 people, organized under the motto ‘Show Strength – Together Against Violence Against Women’. The event, held on Friday, September 18, aimed to raise awareness and funds for women's shelters in the Hanau and Wächtersbach regions.

Local officials, including Mayor Claus Kaminsky and District Administrator Thorsten Stolz, participated in the run to demonstrate solidarity. The event drew a diverse group of participants ranging in age from 12 to 88 years. In addition to runners, the event introduced the option for individuals to contribute as monetary donors to support the local shelters.

District Administrator Stolz highlighted the significant involvement of local schools, companies, and participants from the surrounding Main-Kinzig-Kreis, noting that the high turnout serves as an important social signal for non-violent interaction in society.
