Hanau launches summer cultural festival with Hamburg market shouters and performances

Hanau’s 39th Kultoursommer runs from 15 to 21 July, featuring the return of the Hamburger Marktschreier – a troupe of market shouters bringing authentic Hamburg fish‑market atmosphere to Freiheitsplatz. The programme includes poetry slams, family theatre productions such as *Schneewittchen*, a comedy night with four top German comedians, swing music by “Lou’s THE COOL CATS”, and interactive craft sessions for children. Seniors can join guided tours of the historic Licht‑ und Luftbad, and visitors can explore local boutiques on the “Walk & Talk & Drink In The City” tour. The festival rounds off with a drag‑themed show, live music, and a variety of food stalls offering regional specialties.
