Hanau police to offer free bicycle coding to prevent theft
The Hanau City Police, in collaboration with the Hanau Police Station, will host a free bicycle coding event on Tuesday, August 25, 2026. The initiative aims to help citizens protect their bicycles from theft by engraving an individual code into the bike frame, making stolen property harder to resell.
The event will take place at the Weststadtbüro in the Kesselstadt district of Hanau between 10:00 and 16:00. Participants are required to bring a valid ID and proof of ownership. To prevent long wait times, residents must schedule an appointment in advance by calling the Hanau City Police.
