Hanau to host Heart Health Day focusing on atrial fibrillation

The city of Hanau, in collaboration with the Main-Kinzig-Kreis Office for Health and Hazard Prevention and the German Heart Foundation, is hosting a Heart Health Day on Tuesday, November 10. The event, held at the Haus der Gesundheit, focuses on the theme ‘Heart out of rhythm – recognizing and acting on atrial fibrillation.’

Atrial fibrillation is a common heart rhythm disorder that, if left untreated, can lead to serious consequences such as strokes. Because symptoms like rapid heartbeat or irregular rhythms can be subtle or entirely undetected, the initiative aims to raise awareness regarding early detection and risk factors, including high blood pressure, diabetes, and obesity.

During the event, which runs from 9:00 to 16:00, the public medical service will provide free health checks. These services include measurements of blood pressure, blood oxygen saturation, blood sugar, and cholesterol levels, as well as assessments of height, weight, and Body Mass Index (BMI). Medical professionals will also be available for individual consultations.
