Söke Prosecutor Reopens Elife Doğrul Disappearance Case

The Söke Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has launched a new official investigation into the 2003 disappearance of Elife Doğrul, a 24-year-old mother of two from the Aydın province of Turkey. The decision follows recent testimony presented on the television program ‘Müge Anlı ile Tatlı Sert’.

As part of the judicial process, suspects Metin Musacalı and Türkeş Musacalı have been placed under judicial control, which includes a ban on traveling abroad.

Witnesses have provided harrowing accounts regarding the case. One witness, Muhammed Baycu, testified that while he was a teenager at the time, he was instructed by Metin Musacalı to dig a large pit in a field, where he claims to have seen human remains. Another witness, Ömer Kan, alleged that Doğrul was shot and her body was subsequently destroyed in a coal stove, noting a strong odor in the neighborhood at the time.
