Handball controversy erupts in Romania over Rapid București player loans

Gheorghe Tadici, manager of HC Zalău, has raised concerns regarding the integrity of the Romanian women's handball Liga Florilor following a strategic move by Rapid București.

Rapid București has decided to loan seven players to Știința București, a newly promoted team that had previously announced its intention to withdraw from the league due to financial difficulties. Under this arrangement, Rapid București will fully cover the contracts and salaries of these seven athletes.

Tadici has criticized this development, alleging that it compromises the fairness of the competition and effectively creates a “Rapid 1” and “Rapid 2” within the national league. He further claimed that such maneuvers involve the misuse of public funds.
