Handball Federation of Republika Srpska launches new season

The Handball Federation of Republika Srpska announced that the new season of the m:tel First and Second Leagues will commence on 19 September, with the second‑division starting a week later. The board, chaired by President Marinko Umićević, approved a format of 14 clubs split into East and West groups to reduce costs, and each board member will contribute 1,000 BAM annually. Plans were also discussed for the 10th All‑Republic Cup, proposed for 30 September in Banja Luka between Borac and Partizan Belgrade, and a senior match pre‑game featuring the Serbian and Republika Srpska selections.

Umićević highlighted financial needs of about 100,000 BAM for the league and expressed hope for support from President Milorad Dodik and the entity's government. The federation also praised its youth league and the participation of its young players in international school championships.
