Handball: NEXE and Sesvete secure opening wins in Paket24 Premijer liga

The opening round of the Paket24 Premijer liga handball season has commenced with notable results across the top divisions in Croatia.

In the Premier League, NEXE secured a dominant 35-25 victory against Ardiaei (Župa dubrovačka) in their season opener. Despite a slow start and a period where the visitors narrowed the gap to three goals, NEXE coach Saša Barišić Jaman utilized his squad depth to maintain control. The victory allowed the coach to rotate players and provide opportunities to various members of the roster.

In Liga B, home teams secured victories in both opening matches. Sesvete Triglav osiguranje defeated Karlovac 27-22. Following the match, Sesvete coach Andrija Nikolić described the game as challenging, while player Nikola Kahlina noted that the team successfully imposed their tempo after a slow start. Karlovac coach Dinko Đanković attributed the loss to technical errors and poor ball security during critical moments. Meanwhile, Čakovec also secured a win against Metković Zalm in a closely contested match.
