Handball World Championship 2027 sees record ticket demand in Germany
With 100 days remaining until the 2027 Handball World Championship in Germany, organizers report unprecedented interest. Mark Schober, CEO of the German Handball Association (DHB), stated that ticket demand is higher than for any previous international tournament, with over 850,000 tickets already sold, representing an 80 percent occupancy rate. Notably, the event has already surpassed its break-even point.
The tournament is scheduled to run from January 13 to January 31, 2027, featuring 112 matches across six German locations. The opening match will be played against Tunisia.
ProSieben has secured broadcasting rights, announcing it will show all matches involving the German national team live and exclusively on free-to-air television and the Joyn streaming platform. Additionally, the network will broadcast the European Championship qualifying match between Germany and Belgium on November 5 in Berlin.
