Hande Tibuk urges Turkish Airlines to lower Northern Cyprus flight costs

Hande Tibuk, Executive Member and General Coordinator of Net Holding, has called on Turkish Airlines (THY) to adopt different pricing and business models to support tourism in Northern Cyprus. Speaking at the Istanbul Tourism Fair, Tibuk noted that high transportation costs are a primary obstacle to the region's tourism growth.

Tibuk emphasized that expensive air travel makes it difficult to attract tourists from international markets, forcing some travelers to choose longer, indirect routes. Reducing these costs could improve Northern Cyprus's competitiveness and accessibility for markets including Europe, Russia, the Middle East, and Ukraine. Despite current logistical disadvantages, Tibuk noted significant demand from Russia, Iran, and Ukraine, driven by the region's hotel, entertainment, and casino offerings.
