Handmade harp stolen in 2022 recovered in Paraguay

Authorities in San Pedro del Paraná, Paraguay, have recovered a handmade harp that was stolen from a prominent musical instrument manufacturer in 2022. The instrument, valued between 90 million and 120 million Guaraní, was located following a social media post and the identification of unique characteristics.

Prosecutor Ortega noted that while the theft was reported years ago, investigators lacked sufficient evidence for a raid until the owner spotted a similar instrument online. The recovery was facilitated by specific identifying marks, including a handwritten signature from the maker and specialized tuning pegs purchased in the United States. During the search of the property, the occupant voluntarily surrendered the instrument, claiming it had belonged to her late father.
