Handong Global University hosts 6th Holistic World Citizen Week
The 6th Holistic World Citizen Week, themed ‘Seeking Balance: Four Questions from History to Shape Our Future’, was held from the 14th to the 15th at the Kim Young-gil GRACE School of Handong Global University. The event was co-hosted by UN Academic Impact Korea and Handong Global University, with sponsorship from Korea Zinc and Youngone Corporation.
The program focused on the concept of ‘balance’, exploring how conflicting values can coexist amidst global crises and technological shifts. By using history as a starting point, the event addressed contemporary international issues such as freedom and equality, diversity and integration, and memory and reconciliation.
A central component, the ‘World Wisdom Talks’, featured experts discussing topics including the founding of the United States, Korea’s development, European integration, and the relationship between AI and human creativity. The goal was to encourage students to move beyond standardized answers and develop their own critical questions regarding their roles and responsibilities as global citizens.
