Handre Pollard commits to Springboks future and chases scoring record

Springboks fly-half Handre Pollard has confirmed his intention to continue playing international rugby, stating that his ultimate goal is to reach the 2027 Rugby World Cup. The 32-year-old recently returned to the starting lineup against Australia in Perth following a calf injury, though the match ended in a 42-38 defeat for South Africa.

Pollard is currently closing in on the record for the most points scored for the Springboks. Following his performance in the match against Australia, where he contributed seven points, he has reached a total of 844 points in 88 Tests. He now trails the all-time record held by Percy Montgomery, who scored 893 points in 102 Tests, by only 49 points.
