Handshake Speakeasy to Host Five‑Night Takeover at Algarve's Vila Vita Parc

Mexico’s Handshake Speakeasy, ranked the world’s second‑best bar in The World’s 50 Best Bars and named 2024’s top bar, will stage a temporary five‑night residency at the House Bar in the luxury Vila Vita Parc resort in Porches, Algarve. The takeover runs from 25 to 29 August, offering author‑crafted cocktails prepared with the bar’s highly technical approach – including pre‑made mixes, hand‑crafted ice and Japanese‑sourced glassware. Guests can also enjoy nightly DJ sets, with Deelight, Bruno Zarra, G‑Rod, Pipa and DJ Westvill each curating a night. The event showcases Handshake’s emphasis on meticulous preparation, with drinks sometimes begun 24‑48 hours in advance and tested by three team members before service. Founded in 2021 in Mexico City’s Zona Rosa, the bar’s team led by Marcos Di Battista, Rodrigo Urraca and newcomer Eric van Beek will bring a selection of signature creations to Portuguese visitors, further cementing the resort’s tradition of hosting leading international mixology venues.
