Handwriting expert links Volda Lawrence to disputed 2020 election document

A handwriting expert testified in a Georgetown court that signatures attributed to Volda Lawrence on passport applications match a signature found on a disputed Form 24 election document from the March 2020 elections.

The disputed document, associated with a Region Four declaration by Clairmont Mingo, was central to the controversy regarding the 2020 election results. Forensic accountant Terrence Jaskaran previously testified that the declaration in question showed 20,243 more votes for the APNU+AFC coalition and 2,959 fewer votes for the PPP/C compared to certified Statements of Poll.

Expert witness Ameer Mohamed stated he compared the signature on the Form 24 with applications from 2010, 2015, and 2020, concluding they shared a common author. During cross-examination, defense attorney Nigel Hughes challenged Mohamed’s methodology, questioning specific handwriting features such as hooks, loops, and connectivity.
