Hang Son Doong identified as the world's largest natural cave
Hang Son Doong, located in Vietnam's Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park, is recognized by the Guinness World Records as the largest natural cave in the world based on its single largest cave passage.
Discovered by Ho Khanh in 1990 during a storm while he was searching for agarwood, the cave was not fully explored until 2009. The cave features a unique microclimate, including a 50-meter-high forest, underground rivers, and clouds formed by internal mist. Some chambers, such as 'Hope and Vision,' are large enough to accommodate a 40-story skyscraper or a Boeing 747.
