Hangar Pèlerin land dispute: Collective calls for state action

The Collective of titleholders for the Hangar Pèlerin subdivision has issued a statement expressing deep distress over a persistent land dispute that has left many families in a state of uncertainty and precariousness. Despite previous government commitments, the Collective reports that no definitive solution has been implemented to secure these families.

Concerns have been heightened following the testimony of former Director of Domains, Abdou Gningue, before a parliamentary commission investigating failures in land allocation. While the Collective acknowledged President Bassirou Diomaye Faye’s interest in land governance, they are calling for concrete measures, a specific timeline, and a formal consultation framework to resolve the impasse.

The group has announced plans for information, awareness, and citizen mobilization campaigns to urge authorities toward a final resolution, stating that the current situation constitutes a ‘true social drama’ affecting the economic and social stability of affected families.
