Hangzhou rescuers search for missing 76-year-old man

A 76-year-old man, identified as Mr. Chen, went missing in Xindeng Town, Hangzhou, China, after leaving his home for a walk on August 6. His family initially received alerts from a GPS tracking bracelet he was wearing, which indicated he had left his residential area and was still moving.

Local police and more than 30 rescuers, including members of the Wolf Rescue Team, launched a search operation in the mountainous terrain starting around 21:00. The search was complicated by heavy rain and slippery, rugged mountain paths, which forced a temporary pause in operations around 03:00 due to low visibility and safety risks.

The search continued into the following morning after a signal was unexpectedly detected from the tracking device.
