Haniel announces supervisory board leadership succession

Haniel has announced a succession plan for its supervisory board to facilitate a long-term generational transition. Doreen Nowotne, the company’s first non-family chairperson, will hand over the chairmanship to Maximilian Schwaiger at the end of April 2023 following the completion of her five-year term.

With Schwaiger’s appointment, the supervisory board will once again be led by a member of the family. Schwaiger, a 40-year-old professional currently in a management role within the industrial division of Continental AG, has served as a shareholder representative on the Haniel supervisory board since 2020.

Additionally, Dr. Thomas Vollmoeller has been elected to the supervisory board by the shareholders' meeting. Vollmoeller, the former CEO of New Work SE, brings expertise in corporate culture and digital business models. He succeeds Patrick Schwarz-Schütte, who stepped down following the shareholders' meeting.
