Hanif Sjahbandi rejoins Arema FC for 2026/2027 season

Arema FC has officially re-signed midfielder Hanif Sjahbandi for the 2026/2027 competition season. Hanif, who previously played for the club from 2017 to 2022 and helped secure two Piala Presiden titles in 2017 and 2019, returns to the squad after a four-year stint with Persija Jakarta.

General Manager Yusrinal Fitriandi stated that the decision was based on a thorough evaluation of Hanif’s potential contributions and his deep understanding of the club’s culture and atmosphere. The management aims to use his experience to help build a strong foundation for the team in upcoming seasons.

Hanif is not expected to play immediately, as he is currently undergoing recovery following knee surgery. The club noted that his return to active competition will be managed gradually, following the specific recommendations of medical staff and coaches to ensure he returns in optimal condition.
