Hanjin Group holds compliance seminar to prepare for airline merger

Hanjin Group held its 5th Compliance Capacity Building Seminar at the Hanjin Building in Seoul to prepare for the upcoming integration of Korean Air and Asiana Airlines. Organized by the Hanjin KAL Ethical Management Committee, the event was attended by approximately 100 employees from various group affiliates, including Hanjin KAL, Korean Air, Asiana Airlines, Hanjin, and Jin Air.

The seminar focused on strengthening legal expertise and preemptively addressing potential legal risks arising from the group's merger. Legal experts from Lee & Ko provided training on key issues regarding the Monopoly Regulation and Fair Trade Act, such as undue support and recent regulatory trends for large conglomerates. Additionally, sessions covered the Subcontracting Act, focusing on preventing violations, managing subcontracting price indexation, and ensuring legal compliance throughout the contracting and payment processes.

Hanjin Group stated it will continue to inspect compliance processes throughout the integration period to establish a fair trading order and practice responsible management.
