Hanjin launches large-scale UK fulfillment center to support K-beauty growth

Hanjin has commenced full operations of its large-scale fulfillment center in Southampton, UK, to support the growing demand for K-beauty products in Europe. The facility, spanning approximately 10,000 pyeong (roughly 33,000 square meters), is designed to handle storage, order processing, packaging, and local delivery.

The expansion follows the opening of a European fulfillment center in the Netherlands last year. By establishing a presence in the UK, Hanjin aims to provide a comprehensive logistics network to meet the surge in demand expected during the year-end shopping season, including Black Friday and Boxing Day. Sales volumes for K-beauty products are projected to increase by up to three times during these peak periods.

Recent data indicates that cosmetics exports to 58 European countries reached approximately $1.59 billion in the first half of the year, surpassing North American exports for the first time. Hanjin plans to link its UK and Netherlands hubs to offer one-stop solutions, including customs clearance, tax reporting, and final-mile delivery, for various sectors such as health foods, chemicals, and electronics.
