Hankook & Company Group launches vehicle support for low-income families
Hankook & Company Group, in partnership with Green Umbrella, has launched the ‘2026 Vehicle Sharing 2.0’ program. The initiative is currently accepting applications from low-income households residing in Gyeonggi Province until October 2.
The program aims to support economic independence by providing approximately six eco-friendly vehicles, primarily the Kia EV5 electric vehicle. Depending on local charging infrastructure, Seltos hybrid models may be provided as alternatives. A key feature of the ‘2.0’ model is that recipients can register the vehicles on car-sharing platforms to generate income, moving beyond simple mobility support to foster financial self-reliance.
Since its inception in 2008, the group’s vehicle sharing activities have provided a total of 661 vehicles to social welfare institutions and vulnerable populations. Following a selection process involving document reviews, interviews, and field inspections, the final recipients will be announced in November.
