Hankook Tire launches new Winter i*cept evo4 series in South Korea
Hankook Tire & Technology has launched its new winter performance tire series, the ‘Winter i*cept evo4’ and ‘Winter i*cept evo4 SUV’, in the South Korean market. This new lineup is the successor to the ‘Winter i*cept evo3’, which received positive evaluations in performance tests by German automotive publications such as Auto Bild and ADAC.
The new models are designed to improve acceleration and handling on snowy and icy surfaces. By utilizing wider lateral grooves, the tires offer a 5% increase in grip and traction on snow compared to the previous model. Additionally, the tires feature a ‘Balance Grip Compound’ to enhance braking performance on wet roads and a V-shaped tread pattern to mitigate hydroplaning.
In terms of efficiency, the tires aim to reduce fuel consumption by lowering rolling resistance and increase mileage by 15% through optimized load distribution. The full lineup includes 127 different specifications, ranging from 17 to 22 inches, covering 65 sizes for passenger cars and 62 sizes for SUVs.
