Hankyu Travel and Munakata City sign environmental conservation agreements
Hankyu Travel has entered into forest conservation agreements in Tanba-Sasayama City, Hyogo Prefecture. In collaboration with Hyogo Prefecture, Tanba-Sasayama City, and the Hyogo Prefecture Greening Promotion Association, the company aims to enhance forest functions such as carbon dioxide absorption and biodiversity preservation. The initiative, which runs until October 2029, focuses on a 0.5-hectare area near a local shrine, involving activities like tree pruning and thinning to regenerate healthy forest ecosystems.
In Fukuoka Prefecture, Munakata City and Shabondama Soap Co., Ltd. have signed a partnership agreement to promote environmental education and eco-friendly lifestyles. Building on a relationship dating back to the 1990s involving waste oil soap making, the new agreement expands their cooperation into environmental learning. As part of the ceremony, the company donated a digital globe to the Munakata Sea Road Museum to help citizens visualize global environmental changes, such as rising sea temperatures.
