Hann. Münden senior home shooting leaves two dead
Two men have died following a shooting at a senior care facility in Hann. Münden, Lower Saxony. According to police investigations, a 66-year-old man visited his 70-year-old brother at the facility on a Saturday morning before a confrontation occurred.
The 66-year-old allegedly shot his brother, causing fatal injuries, and then turned the weapon on himself. Authorities are investigating the incident as a possible “extended suicide” with an “inner-familial” background.
The shooting took place in the outdoor area of the facility. Police confirmed that no other individuals were involved and there is no ongoing danger to the public. A firearm was recovered at the scene. Emergency services, including a rescue helicopter and crisis counselors, responded to the site to provide support to residents and staff.
