Hanna Bergholm's horror film Nightborn premieres

Finnish director Hanna Bergholm released the body‑horror black comedy "Nightborn", a sequel to her earlier film "Hatching". The 2026 feature follows the young couple Saga (Seidi Haarla) and Jon (Rupert Grint) as they move into a remote forest villa in Finland, where their newborn exhibits grotesque, supernatural traits that upend conventional horror tropes.

The film blends unsettling visual and auditory elements, including a newborn that is unusually hairy and vocal, and draws on classic horror influences such as Roman Polanski’s "Rosemary’s Baby". "Nightborn" is a co‑production involving Finland, Lithuania, France and the United Kingdom, and showcases Grint’s first major role since his "Harry Potter" fame.
