Hannah Fry identifies gameplay mistakes by Maya Jama and James Acaster
Mathematician and author Hannah Fry has claimed that fellow ‘Celebrity Traitors’ Maya Jama and James Acaster have exposed themselves through predictable gameplay patterns. Following her banishment from the competition, Fry revealed that she used mathematical techniques inspired by Alan Turing’s work on the Enigma code to analyze previous series and identify potential giveaways.
Fry identified two specific behaviors as indicators of a Traitor: making a ‘burn vote’ (voting for someone who is not a major target) within the first three episodes, and ‘piling on’ to banish another Traitor despite having no prior history of voting for them. She noted that both Jama and Acaster had performed burn votes and had quickly shifted their voting focus toward her.
As the competition reaches its halfway point, Maya Jama has recruited content creator King Kenny as a new ally. Meanwhile, the episode featured the murder of comedian Rob Beckett and saw various contestants, including Joe Lycett, navigating suspicion at the roundtable.
